Parks Board Candidate
Ray was raised in Vancouver’s vibrant Riley Park community. Growing up, he learned to swim at the old Riley Park pool.
Chang is an active volunteer. He has led physiotherapy and adapted aquatics classes for seniors with disabilities and taught piano to elementary students. He is currently a UBC student and spends his free time swimming with his family at city facilities.
Ray is the Vice-President of Riley Park Hillcrest Community Association. Chang has successfully led initiatives that expanded programs for all demographics. He also serves as Chair in the Marketing and Program Committees that shaped Hillcrest Community Centre into one of the finest community centres in the city.
Chang’s top priorities, once elected, include saving our community centres by negotiating an agreement that allows locals to have a voice. He wants to renovate and upgrade aging facilities to modern sustainable standards. Lastly, Ray wants to promote attractions and events to showcase Vancouver’s music, culture, and arts with revenue put back into improving parks.
