Parks Board Candidate
Olga Zarudina holds a Master’s Degree in Linguistics and Translation/Interpretation. She is a certified translator and licensed REALTOR®.
She has served as a Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia, and is a current Director of the Riley Park Hillcrest Community Centre Association.
As a long-term immigrant, she has deep roots in the Ukrainian community of Vancouver and understands the challenges that come with starting a new life in Canada. Olga belongs to the senior layer of the millennials generation and as a Director of a Community Centre, she recognizes the issues that young families with children face in big cities, including accessible usage of pools, cleanliness of parks, and limited availability of sports grounds. Therefore, she will advocate for preserving the community associations and involving citizens in the functioning of community centres’ facilities and events.
Olga is running for Park Board because she wants to bring Vancouver’s vibrant arts and music culture to the next level. She will be focusing on supporting local artists, sculptors, musicians and all Vancouverites in their artistic self-expression to make the city esthetically bloom with new colours.
