City Council Candidate
Ken Charko is a small business owner, grassroots community leader, and a passionate advocate for the arts.
He’s running for City Councillor to engage with and serve people from all walks of life in Vancouver.
He is the owner of the iconic Dunbar Theatre, one of the last remaining, independently owned and operated movie theaters in Vancouver, which he’s been run for the last 20 years.
He has received the Vancouver Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award and Trinjen award for Cultural Diversity in the work place.
He’s been nominated for Environmental Innovator for the City of Vancouver and served as President of the Riley Park Hillcrest Community Centre Association. He also served as Director of the Motion Picture Association, past Vice President.
Ken is running as a City Councillor to serve the community. If he is elected he would champion arts and culture initiatives and institutions across Vancouver to make them accessible to everyone.
Ken is concerned about the city budget, wasteful spending and will conduct a line-by-line review of the city budget to cut wasteful spending and streamline service delivery. He supports fair housing initiatives and will make Vancouver accessible by getting rid of regulations and bylaws that penalize hard-working people and small businesses
Ken is guided by common sense, not ideology and fight for what’s right with my results-oriented approach, which makes me different from everyone else.
I would love to have your vote.
